But before the class started we assembled 10 grocery bags with donations from the Corte Madera Farmer's Market (collection courtesy of La Farine-Thanks Stan!) La Farine donated many delicious loaves for the grocery give-away. We checked out all of the new and distinct fruits and veggies from yams and turnips, cabbages, melons, to blue potatoes, purple peppers, and white onions. It certainly was an assortment.
Here's Devonte stirring up our tomato and cucumber salad.
We made red pasta sauce from scratch and smoothered our pasta shells in it. About 25 folks surrounded our table that was set oh so perfectly by the class participants.

Kristi (volunteer chef facilitator) and Shawn (our local foodee/master sauce man). Her we are chowing down. About 25 folks-kids and adults enjoyed the fruits of our labor.
After dinner we cleaned up and sent everyone home with a grocery bag filled with fantastic fresh food!
Can't wait until the next Third Thursday cooking class! Come by, meet your community, it's totally FREE!
Just to note in addition to La Farine, we now have the Food Mill on board as a sponsor!
Ideally we'd like to have the class and grocery give away every week so if you'd like to donate or volunteer please contact ACE.arts.eastbay@gmail.com.
In addition, we're looking for proper plates cups napkins and silverware so we don't have to be so wasteful with the paper.
